The land of pipi sauvage !
Got to do all the touristy stuff, saw the Lourve, Eiffel Tower, a guy throw up on public transit, put a lock on the recently de-locked love lock bridge, ate French onion soup, etc.
We also went to Normandy and toured the landing beaches of D-day. Sort of unreal, as at this point they’re more or less regular beaches where people sunbathe swim, and walk their dogs. We also visited the Normandy American Cemetery just off the beach. It was overwhelming, to say the least, and made me reflect on how much of an honor it was to have served and deployed with a unit that has such a stalwart pedigree as the MIGHTY 101st Airborne Division.
Normandy was beautiful - all of the little towns were very charming. All untouched by modern buildings and marquees it would seem. Would def go back!
